Empowering District 41 Together

About
Shannice Anderson is a lifelong resident of District 41, a proud graduate of Bowie State University, and a dedicated public servant with more than 20 years of experience at the Maryland Office of the Public Defender.
As the Director of Community Engagement and Reentry, Shannice works at the intersection of policy and people—building partnerships with service providers, advancing smart policy solutions, and ensuring individuals and families have access to the resources they need to thrive. Her work has focused on reducing barriers to reentry, strengthening public safety through support and prevention, and connecting communities to opportunity.
In addition to her direct service work, Shannice has spent over a decade in government relations, advocating for policies that impact everyday Marylanders. She has worked alongside lawmakers, community organizations, and stakeholders to shape legislation and drive meaningful change.
A mother who raised her family in District 41—and now has children who have chosen to remain in the community—Shannice understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing local families.
She is running for State Delegate to bring practical experience, community-centered leadership, and a commitment to results—not rhetoric—to Annapolis.
Vision Statement for District 41
My vision for District 41 is a community where every resident—no matter their background, zip code, or circumstance—has access to opportunity, safety, and a real voice in the decisions that shape their lives.
District 41 is one of the most diverse and dynamic communities in our state. That diversity is our strength. It means different cultures, experiences, and perspectives coming together—but it also means we must be intentional about equity. My vision is to ensure that our policies reflect all of us, not just a few.
I am committed to:
Equity in Action: Making sure resources—education, housing, healthcare, and economic investment—are distributed fairly across every part of our district.
Public Safety Through Stability: Supporting solutions that go beyond enforcement—investing in reentry, mental health, violence prevention, and youth opportunity.
Economic Empowerment: Creating pathways for local businesses to thrive, supporting workforce development, and ensuring residents can access livable wages.
Representation that Listens: Being a visible, accessible, and responsive leader who shows up, follows through, and brings your voice to the table in Annapolis.
At its core, my vision is about building a District 41 where diversity is not just acknowledged—but actively uplifted—and where every person feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
